Turf Reduction
In an effort to conserve water in the current drought we face here in California we have selected areas that we will be removing turf and replacing with drought tolerant native plantings. There will be approximately 11 acres removed over the 27 holes. We are in the early stages of this project as we have just begun spraying round-up in the areas to be removed. I will keep you updated as the project progresses.

Rain Storm - 2/28/14
Finally we are getting some much needed rain. Unfortunately we are getting it all at once which creates challenges in itself. We will have washed out bunkers, tree limbs down, debris from the surrounding neighbour hood that washes through the course, native areas washed out etc. It will take many man hours to put the course back together, so when the rain does end please be patient as my crew works to restore the course.

Tree Root Pruning
The contractor was kind enough to loan us the use of their trencher to root prune some areas around the greens that have tree root issues. The roots that cause the greens to stress and dry out in the summer months are only 6'' to 1 foot deep. We are however trenching to about 3 feet deep to may sure we don't have the problem return any time soon.

View from the Snack Shop ( 1/22/14 )
Over looking the 9th green on the East course. Although we have not had any rain, fertilization and warm weather has helped in the appearance of the course.
Renovation of # 2 Tee on the West Course
The 2nd tee on the West course has always posed a challenge with the tee shot as you do not have a view of any target. Construction will begin this week on renovating the tee so there will be a visible view of the green on this short par 4. It will involve some grading and elevations changes to the tee along with some brush clearance to obtain a better angle and view for the tee shot. For progress photos and updates, you can view them on this post as they are made.
